Slate of Vietnam - Garden tables

The slate layers are in Vietnam north in the province of Lay Chau being next to China. The layers are in the open air, among the last of the world.
The transportation routes are bad even non-existent during the rain season: the supply stone ceases between July and the end of September due to floods in the neighbourhoods of the sites of production which are very far away from the road infrastructures.
The stones are cut out and extracted with the hand with one, carted with the buffaloes, then rivers cross on small vats then are then conveyed in the truck during two days in the truck to arrive at Hanoi.
A great attention is necessary throughout the extraction and of transport in order to avoid striping surfaces.
Once in our workshop with Hanoi, the slates are selected, cut out, cleaned partly, then sandpapered. The effects of size “flint” on the edges of flagstone are given to the hand with mass and graver then one carries out a mechanical sandpapering to ensure a pleasant contact with the wrists and the hands.
A framework drink some varnished allows a good protected base of the flagstone on its wrought iron support dismountable rust-proof treaty.
